Opening hours are 10 - 4.30 Tuesday to Saturday, closed on Mondays. It is open throughout lunchtime.
You can pre-order up to 4 documents in advance of your visit. At the moment appointments and pre-orders need to be submitted 7 days in advance of your visit. Visit this web page for further advice.
You can also order archives during your visit. There will be 4 production runs throughout the day, where you will be able to order up to 4 items each run. The production runs will be at 10.30am, 11.30am, 2.00pm and 3.00pm.
You can also just go into the Suffolk Archives search room - there is no longer any need to book in advance.
If you are ordering documents online, please be aware that much material, indexes and catalogues,have yet to be digitised. You are not doing something wrong if you cannot find what you want. Please email or phone the search room and ask for help, they are expecting you.
